Libra Leaders Launch Latinas in VC
My Latina mother was one of the top students in the 3rd graduating class of women at her law school at the first university of the Americas, Universidad de Santo Domingo. She was intelligent, hardworking, well-connected but extremely limited in her vocational opportunities because she was a woman.
When she gave birth to me she was fired from her job as a Professor at a top university in the United States because of the dreaded mommy penalty which still exists today.
We have come a long way, but we still have a long way to go for equal opportunity based on MERIT and CAPABILITIES. We deeply appreciate our allies in this ongoing pursuit.
I am absolutely proud of the high-achieving women with whom I have the privilege of associating in business, academia, government (Gale A. Brewer), and IGOs/NGOs such as the United Nations (Chantal Line Carpentier, Sylvia Wong - Social Impact Expert ) who are innovating and enabling inclusive opportunities. YOU ARE ALL MY FAMILIA. I am committed to supporting your success and happiness.
In honor of Women's History Month, my Libra Leaders sisters and I are celebrating the stories and contributions of women who are shaping the future of investing and entrepreneurship with the launch of our first-ever Latinas In VC: Women Investors Guide. This groundbreaking guide highlights pioneering women and Latina investors in early-stage funding—leaders catalyzing high-growth companies and driving meaningful economic transformation.
I am thrilled to be an author alongside 32 other Latina Partners as we celebrate their incredible achievements and tangible impact by opening new pathways for the next generation of investors and entrepreneurs.
We sincerely hope you can utilize this book and that it inspires you to reach out or connect with us as we work to tip the scales of capital. HTTPS://lnkd.in/gmJ_NpY5
